Children and Family Ministry Director

Gretchen was born and raised in Hazelwood, MO, near St. Louis, and graduated from University of Missouri- Columbia.  Her degree in Interior Design started a career in visual merchandising which was adapted to marketing and promotions when she moved to Florida in 1992.  After some twists and turns and taking some time off with each of her 2 daughters, Gretchen has brought her marketing experience, along with a bit of church administration and 6 years in elementary education to Trinity as the Director of Children and Family Ministry.

Gretchen's family has been Presbyterian all the way back to John Knox (yes, it is 10 generations back, but it is a direct link) and was raised in that denomination.  She broke from family tradition in 2005 by joining the United Methodist Church when she and her girls moved to Palmetto.  The guidance of the Lord has been especially strong over the past few years and it was Him who lead her to Trinity in the summer of 2008.  Her daughter, Megan, was confirmed in the spring of 2009 and is proud to point out that she joined Trinity several weeks before her Mom.  Megan and her younger sister, Jessica have both been involved in Trinity's children's and youth programs from the time they started attending.  These programs are the reason their family came to Trinity, but the loving church family who welcomed them into their church home is why they continued to attend and get involved in church programs.

Since her marketing days, Gretchen has continued her own business of photography and graphic design.  Her real passion is nature photography but also does portraiture and events.  She loves the challenge of capturing the beauty of God's creation, both in nature and in human expression.
